100th year celebration
The 1st of July 2023 was exactly the 100th year since the current church was built in 1923. That was not the first Anglican service in Inglewood which was held by Rev. Handley Brown on 13th June 1875. The current church was dedicated to those who had lost their lives in the 1st World War. A marble tablet inside the church contains the names of 137 men who died overseas.
In November 2019 the church was closed due to being classified an earthquake risk.

Parishioners made four delicious cakes which were iced as one cake by Jessica Vickers. There was a tasty range of crockpot meals and pies all made by Parishioners. What a great turnout from 80 people who responded. The current longest serving parishioner (Mrs Rosalie Kilsby) and two 4th generation children (Ezra and Emma) cut the cake. At the conclusion Graeme Sykes talked about the renewal of the Church to prepare it for another 100 years. Clive Cullen Architect had submitted a Feasibility Report to Vestry during the week. This church is not only an Historic Place it is a Sacred Place. We want to strengthen it and repair it as simply as possible and meet today’s user expectations. St Andrews Peace Memorial Church was built in a period of local depression, illness, and tremendous loss of young men.
This renovation is much more than just a building. We seek the support of the community in this project.
